Sweet November!

A very sweet November indeed.

Every year, November seems low profiled. No decent holidays (for the working class), no activities nor festivals. Was wondering if other months got keep bullying November or not.

December, "I sound cool okay... Christmas falls on my month!"

January. "Nah... See! I bring a New Year to all."

But I still like November. Because, I dun like Heroes, Sidekicks attract my attention instead.

11.53pm - Wave goodbye to November, say hello to December. Then prepare for 2009.
When?

Lucky me!

I took leave today. Mainly because of 2 things.

1. My Final Theory Test

2. Dental Appointment

FTT @ 1145
I thought I gonna flunk again like last time. You know, when you fail, you need to book for the test again. And the time in between is at least 1 month. All those that you studied you will forget. This how they earn your money. So I was like, "Never mind, treat this as a practice." Ha ha ha... Very optimistic Ricaro. So the 50 questions took me for around 15 minutes. Then I calculated all those questions that I had no confidence at all were around 6. And you need at least 45 to pass the test. These time around there are 2x ketupats sitting beside me. As usual, both were waiting for me to submit my answers and see whether I pass or fail. In the meantime, I also waiting for them to submit. So wait and wait. I gave up. My fingers were reluctant to touch on the "END TEST" icon. But my mind force them to do so.

5 thousand....

4 thousand....

3 thousand.... (a drop of sweat rolling down my forehead)

2 thousand... (those 2x ketupats' eyes on my screen, damn it!)

1 thousand...

PASSED! ON YOUR FACE KETUPATS!!! Lucky me!

Dental @ 1300
Then I made my way to CCK for my dental appointment. Actually I am going for braces. (sick and tired of the insults I had for the past 22 years...) Mr Dentist said, "Your upper jaw is more protruding. The difference in length between your upper jaw and inner jaw is 9mm. And lucky you, if 10mm, you need to go for a jaw operation." Yeah! Lucky me again! Jaw operation is definitely a no go... He also commented, "Actually, not just your upper jaw is more protrude out, your two front teeth are also big." Then he smiled guiltily. Damn you Mr Dentist! Then what he did today was pluck out some of my teeth so as to make space for braces. Holy shit! You know, I hate dentist is because of tooth extraction. But, no pain no gain... What to do? I clench my fist when he injected my gum so as to feel numb. Then he use the spanar to grab my tooth and pull out. Oh god, although I didn't feel pain but I was so afraid to look. However it was done in just a blink of eye. With sweat all over my body. So I went home with hands covering my mouth all the way. 27 months later, I will look better.

3.04pm - I should be so lucky, lucky lucky lucky...

At least...

Not feeling very well now days..

Early in the morning when you are boarding MRT then you will see people that are boarding tend to stand at the middle of the door. Then they only leave a small gap in between for the alighting passengers. Although the speaker had clearly stated, "PLEASE MAKE WAY FOR THE ALIGHTING PASSENGERS, THANK YOU." Although there are markings on the floor. However, people tend to act blind and deaf. Then I was thinking if happen that I've got a friend from other country, and he/she happen to criticize Singaporeans, I think I have no reason to protect ourselves either.

www.uglysingaporeans.com

Then after that maybe you want to order something during your lunch, and while approaching the hawker, you asked politely, "Ba chou mee mai hiam." Then the hawker asked you have a seat first and will serve you shortly. Few minutes later, your lunch is served, but with lots of chillies. The term "mai hiam" like not very obviously stated or the hawker can't be bothered. In the end, you end up spending another 3 bucks for Hor Fun.

Then also your driving instructor not very patience enough. Late for lesson and change your schedule without telling you only after you asked him. Comments also not very encouraging. Still can one hand answering phone call and other hand control your steering wheel. Was wondering who is the one learning. The worst thing is that he said, "Remember to hold your steering wheel with both hands unless changing gear! Dun ever one hand on steering the other on gear!" Then when his turn to drive, he can one hand on steering the other on gear. He deserve a clap. Is'nt Instructor should lead as example?

What's wrong with the world lately?

Then after the day you took MC, you came back to work. You found out that your table was previously in a mess but now was cleared and tidied. How could this be done? Who could have done this? You look around but no one (you thought) could have did this. Mainly because you didn't pin too much hope for the good relationships with your colleagues. Now then you know at least one of them appreciate your presence.

At least you are being appreciated.

4.45pm - Angels do exist.

*Kindly write your status at the chatbox and I will update accordingly. Guys, please be supporting. A million thanks!

First thing first. Let's wish Nigelinho a very warmest Happy 22nd Birthday! Ho ar! I seldom got friends that born in November.. Happen that I browse through Facebook and saw this irritating icon stating that "Nigel birthday is today!" So I get to know. Other than that I dun bother to remember his birthday. Haw haw haw haw haw...

Ok back to the topic, I'm gonna to organize a EOYO at this coming December! I think mainly for Bravo Commanders for 12th mono. Hey wait, are we 11th or 12th? Also take note that our beloved Ankithar will be back on 19th December (Friday) so I guess we can move out on 20th December?

For those who are interested, please leave your comments and suggestions at the chatbox on the left. Actually I was thinking:

1. Bintan - It's cheap but I think for the month December it is a rainy season so I guess nothing much to play with.

2. Malacca - It's cheap also and we can go for shopping spree!

3. Genting - This may be the worst choice... But! at least we are considered outside Singapore. However, most of us have voted Genting. Why?
  • "Great! We can go the casino there!" BigZ hope can bring more cash instead of wasting some.
  • Justea suggested Genting also because now the place has more entertainments compare to last time.
  • It's near Singapore. ??? This also can be a reason? Then might as well go Sentosa...

So I can think of these places so far. Waiting for all suggestions. For those who first thought is

1. "See first la... BigZ go then I go. Justea go then I go. Johnlee go then I go." People like Rogeroko, Angruibin, BhD or Marco Reyno.
My reply was that, actually BigZ, Justea and Johnlee also think like this. In the end, this vicious cycle leads to nowhere...

2. "If I got money then I go." Maybe Benjo or Nigelinho think this way.
Come on la... Malacca, Bintan or Genting will not cost you a bomb. Cut down on your cigarettes la! Go foodcourt for lunch instead of Subway!

3. (Dun reply at all and wait for ME to call you, in the end you also dun go.) Specially for Hanjotatoe.
Hello Hanjo~ That time is your school holidays. And going for a couple of days is better than you store you stomach with fats and more fats!

4. "Clash with my activity leh." No one else but Mr Cheung Brawny Brain Brian.
The date is like 20th December (I SAY FIRST). Even though you are working you can take leave first. I bet that end of year people are clearing leave. Unless you work with Helafiza! If not let's go!

I hope the feedback is supportive enough. So far Ango and me are confirmed.

I'm not a bad organizer! *Pointing at SOMEONE that said organize an Ubin trip until now still zero response from him!

So to all Bravo Commanders, please think of my proposal.

Thank you.

11.30pm - Bravo spirits never die.

My Battalion - ORD Party

The first weekend of November is a fun one! My Battalion had organized an ORD party at St. James. Actually, the ORD people are referring to other Companies whom ORDing at December. My Company ORD at next year May/June. But who cares? I already ORDed!

So since ORD, I never had visited my battalion. I only get to know what they doing from the regulars. Then also, it was quite happy to see our Bravo guys there. We chat about how was Bravo doing now, the new commanders, comparision of the new commanders and us, (haha!) our Old Master Loo, the new OC, blah blah blah... Then enjoy ourselves during the party.

We were so happy to see Weifu. (Although we dun like him. HUR HUR!)

Then Ango need to be forced in order to take photos with others.

Sometimes I dun understand this old man is doing.

Helafiza is much more civilize than the old man

But once a BRAVO, always a BRAVO!

If the party was till 12am I think it would be fun. But what to do, the oraganizer WAS NOT FROM BRAVO. Haha, I mean that it would be a better party la. (But the original organizer was great also la.) We went off about 10pm to....

This! But actually I wanted to watch,

This show but.. you know, SOMEBODY DIE DIE, DIE ANOTHER TIMES, STUBBORN UNTIL CANNOT TAHAN, dun want to watch.

In the end, another 007 show is added on my "had-watched" movie list. So 007 has a impression of an impressive agent going through every end of the world to get his job done. See, I even can anticipate what's the movie is all about. *Sigh. (During the movie, it is Ango that going to fall asleep.) However, the action scenes manage to keep me awake. So overall it is still 2/5.

Okay, a very tiring weekend for me indeed.

10.15am - Silent and Effective!

For the sake of

So it's just that...

I thought my job is easy, just manly work on claims and send tax invoice. Work on discrepancies on the certification of payment and clarify any doubts. Simple...

This is only the surface. Sometimes you need to know the story behind it. You must be clear on what is going on and present yourself well on every meeting held. Rectify the problems or maybe, prevent any mistakes in the future. No one should teach you what to do but you are the one teaching them what is to be done. Then soon you will become a specialist.

I must say, I now realize that my previous boss, Mr Helafiza actually had pinned too much hope on me. A lot of times, he gimme the authority to do what is within my job scope. When mistakes made, (although most of the times he make it worst by scoldings instead of encouraging) he actually explained to me what went wrong. This is all because he knows I'm a specialist in this and I need to remedy the aftermath. Learn from mistakes! Other than me, no one knows more and no one will interfere or doubt what I'm doing.

It is all started from scratch.

My mentor.

(Happen after I din do well in the meeting with our client previously)
"I just want to help you gaining your confidence. I want to train you to present yourself. You must be sure than me on what is actually happening. So that you will be well equipped with the knowledge you have when going for meetings. Other QS will then have the impression that you are not easily defeated. Then, success is in the way. That is why I see you have that ability!"

Not all people are born with talent. They need to learn and outshine themselves by gaining experience day by day. I'm happy that my mentor had looked up on me.

"I think you are lingually smart!"

He said before. And I'm glad. At least someone know your talent. Although this doesn't mean that I will motivate myself, I just know that my direction is more clearer from the mist I currently lingered in. Just do what I'm suppose to do. Understand the situation, must know every project inside out, have faith, have confidence, then eventually when go to war I will have enough ammo to fight.

7.34 pm - Not for the sake of him telling me what to do, but for the sake of things getting right.
